Terms of Use

Terms of Use (Terms of Service)

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Recite & Rise Academy website and the educational services we provide. By using our website, submitting an enquiry, or enrolling in a course, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Us

Recite & Rise Academy is an online academy based in Cardiff, UK, providing Qur'anic and Arabic education, including Tajweed, recitation, and related subjects, via live online classes and related support.

2. Use of Our Website and Services

• You agree to use our website and services only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the site.

• You must provide accurate and complete information when enquiring or enrolling, and keep your contact details up to date.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login details we may provide (e.g. for Zoom or class materials) and for all activity under your account.

3. Enrolment and Contract

• Enrolment is subject to availability and, where applicable, assessment. A contract for course provision is formed when we confirm your place and you complete any required payment or acceptance steps we specify.

• You agree to abide by our Refunds & Cancellations policy and our Code of Conduct, which form part of these Terms.

4. Fees and Payment

• Fees are as set out on our Fees page and in any enrolment confirmation we send you. Payment is due as specified (e.g. per term).

• Non-payment may result in suspension or termination of your place. Our Refunds & Cancellations policy applies to any refund requests.

5. Attendance and Conduct

• You are expected to attend classes as agreed and to participate in a respectful, constructive manner in line with our Code of Conduct.

• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your place if your behaviour is inconsistent with our policies or the best interests of other students or staff.

6. Intellectual Property

• Course materials, content on our website, and any materials we provide to you remain our intellectual property (or that of our licensors). You may use them only for your own learning in connection with our courses and may not copy, share, or distribute them without our prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

• We provide our services with reasonable skill and care. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

• Subject to that, we shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, or for loss of profit, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of our website or services.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

• Our website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g. Zoom, WhatsApp, payment providers). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

Refunds & Cancellations

Refunds & Cancellations Policy

Recite & Rise Academy is committed to fairness and transparency in relation to fees, refunds, and cancellations. This policy applies to all enrolled students and should be read alongside our Terms of Use and Fees page.

1. Term Fees and Commitment

• Fees are charged per term as set out on our Fees page and in your enrolment confirmation.

• By paying for a term, you are committing to that term. Refunds are only available in the circumstances set out below.

2. Cancellation by You Before the Term Starts

• If you need to cancel your place before the start of the term, please contact us as soon as possible in writing (e.g. by email to recite.rise2020@gmail.com).

• If we receive your cancellation at least 14 days before the first class of the term, we will refund any fees already paid for that term, minus an administrative fee of £10 to cover processing costs.

• If you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice before the first class, we will not normally offer a refund for that term, as we will have reserved your place and may be unable to fill it. We may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund or credit in exceptional circumstances (e.g. serious illness); please contact us to discuss.

3. Withdrawal After the Term Has Started

• If you withdraw after the term has started, we do not offer refunds for the remainder of that term. This is because we have allocated teaching and resources to your place and cannot typically fill it mid-term.

• If you have paid for the full term and withdraw part-way through, you may remain welcome to attend until the end of the term if you wish; otherwise your place will be released and no refund will be due.

4. Cancellation or Changes by Us

• If we have to cancel a class or change a session (e.g. due to teacher illness or technical issues), we will endeavour to reschedule or offer a substitute session. If we are unable to offer a suitable alternative for a significant part of the term, we will offer a proportionate refund or credit for the affected period.

• If we have to cancel an entire term before it starts (e.g. due to insufficient enrolment or circumstances beyond our control), we will refund any fees already paid in full.

5. Non-Attendance

• Non-attendance at classes does not entitle you to a refund. If you know you will miss classes (e.g. due to travel or illness), please inform us; we may be able to suggest ways to catch up, but refunds are not given for missed sessions.

6. How to Request a Refund

• Refund requests must be made in writing to recite.rise2020@gmail.com, stating your name, the term and course concerned, and the reason for your request.

• Where a refund is approved, we will process it within 14 days using the same method of payment used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.

• Refunds will only be made to the person or account that made the original payment.

7. Exceptions

• We reserve the right to consider exceptional cases (e.g. serious illness, bereavement) on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to explain your situation and we will do our best to be fair and supportive.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refunds & Cancellations policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly. Continued enrolment after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

If you have any questions about refunds or cancellations, please contact us at recite.rise2020@gmail.com.

• Do not plagiarise or present others’ work as your own. Complete assessments and assignments with integrity.

• Respect intellectual property: do not copy or distribute course materials without permission.

4. Commitment to Learning

• Take responsibility for your own learning: complete any set preparation or practice, and communicate with your teacher or the admin team if you are struggling or need support.

• We expect you to engage with the course in good faith and to work with us to maintain a positive learning environment for everyone.

5. Confidentiality and Privacy

• Do not share other students’ or staff members’ personal information, or any private communications, without their consent.

• Respect the confidentiality of what is shared in class or in official academy channels. What is shared in a learning context should stay within that context unless otherwise agreed.

6. Consequences of Breaches

• Minor breaches may be addressed with a reminder or a private conversation.

• Serious or repeated breaches may result in a formal warning, suspension from classes, or termination of your place, and may affect any future enrolment.

• We reserve the right to take immediate action (including suspension or termination) where behaviour is harmful, abusive, or otherwise unacceptable, without prior warning if appropriate.

7. Reporting Concerns

• If you experience or witness behaviour that you believe violates this Code of Conduct, or that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please report it to the academy (e.g. by email to recite.rise2020@gmail.com or to a designated teacher or staff member). We will treat reports seriously and handle them in confidence where appropriate.

8. Our Commitment

Recite & Rise Academy is committed to upholding this Code of Conduct and to supporting a learning environment where everyone can thrive. We expect all members of our community to follow these standards and to contribute to a culture of respect, honesty, and kindness.

By enrolling and participating in our courses, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. We may update it from time to time; the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact us at recite.rise2020@gmail.com.
